Sustainability

Designed with intention. Made with respect.

Mistinguett was created with a simple belief: beautiful pieces should never come at the expense of people or the planet.

Founded by mother-daughter duo Heather and Marie-Laure Tomas, Mistinguett is a Los Angeles-made resort wear brand inspired by French elegance and California ease. Every collection is rooted in a slower, more thoughtful approach to fashion—one that values craftsmanship, reduces waste, and honors the hands behind every garment.

Made in Los Angeles

All Mistinguett pieces are designed and produced in Los Angeles, California.

Keeping production local allows us to stay close to the process, support our community, and maintain a level of quality and care that aligns with who we are. It also means we can work directly with the people who bring our designs to life—real artisans whose work deserves to be valued.

Ethical Product + Fair Pay

We believe ethical fashion isn’t a trend. It’s a responsibility.

Mistinguett prioritizes ethical working conditions and fair wages throughout production. The people stitching our garments are skilled professionals, and we intentionally pay and value them accordingly. Their craftsmanship is not “behind the scenes” to us—it is the heart of the brand.

Deadstock Fabrics

Mistinguett gives priority to deadstock fabrics whenever possible.

Deadstock refers to high-quality textiles that already exist—unused fabric from mills or fashion houses that would otherwise sit forgotten or end up in landfills. By choosing deadstock, we’re able to reduce unnecessary waste while giving new life to beautiful materials.

This approach also means our pieces are made in smaller runs and feel more special—less mass-produced, more intentional.

A Slower Way of Creating

Mistinguett is not built on overproduction or constant seasonal pressure.

We design with longevity in mind—pieces meant to travel with you, live in your wardrobe, and feel just as relevant year after year. Our goal is to create resort wear that feels effortless, elevated, and lasting.

Our Commitment

We are not perfect, and we don’t claim to be. But we are committed to doing things the right way—step by step, collection by collection.

Because to us, sustainability isn’t just about fabric choices. It’s about people. It’s about respect. And it’s about building a brand that feels good to wear in every sense.
