The Spirit of Mistinguett
In France, “Mistinguett” is a quiet nod to a certain type of woman: spirited, self-assured, entirely herself. It was a nickname given to Marie-Laure by her grandmother—a title that captured her essence long before she set foot in a design studio.
Mistinguett carries that spirit today: playful, confident, and unapologetically intentional.
Two Worlds, One Vision
Mistinguett was born from the creative partnership of mother-daughter duo Heather and Marie-Laure Tomas. It exists at the intersection of two worlds: the structured, timeless elegance of Paris and the fluid, sun-drenched ease of Los Angeles.
Here, design is guided by intuition, discovery, and the joy of creating garments that move with the body and the day.
Designed by Discovery
We don’t follow a traditional calendar; we follow the fabric. Our collections often begin with rare, exclusive deadstock, chosen for texture, weight, or a unique story. The silhouette evolves around the material, letting each textile speak for itself.
Every cowl neck, tie, and drape is refined through careful fittings—Marie-Laure’s modeling experience guiding proportions, movement, and feel.
Thoughtful Craft
From the first sketch in our LA studio to the final bead being threaded, Mistinguett is made with intention. We create in small batches, partnering with local ethical makers who share our standards for care, precision, and artistry.
Our hardware, knits, and finishes are hand-selected, each detail considered—because luxury is in how something feels, not just how it looks.
Conscious by Design
Working with deadstock means honoring what already exists. It’s a commitment to sustainability that doesn’t compromise beauty. Each piece is rare, intentional, and designed to be worn again and again—quiet confidence embodied in fabric and form.
